Couriers multiply parcel dimensions and divide by a partner-specific divisor to get the chargeable volumetric weight.
Multiply all 3 dimensions
Multiply the length, width and height of the parcel — for example, 30 × 30 × 50.
Divide by the divisor
Divide by 5,000 for standard shipments, or 4,750 for multi-package — that's your volumetric weight in kg.
Compare with actual weight
If volumetric weight exceeds the actual weight, your shipment is invoiced on the volumetric weight.

Dead weight is the actual weight on a scale. Volumetric weight is derived from size (L × W × H ÷ divisor). You're billed on whichever is higher, so packing efficiently keeps costs down.
